Project Ferus is my first real real passion build, I’ve been building my own computers for several years now and in the later years been doing it for friends and family as well. All of them have been built with functionality and value in mind, getting the “best bang for your buck” so to speak. Now, moving on to Ferus.
Ferus (adj): wild, fierce, untamed
I’ve been planning the ferus build for about three years now and I’ve finally got te time and the funds to go through with it.
Past the years I’ve had alot of ideas as to what I should build. Should it be a silent, discretely coloured HTPC with extremely low power consumption, should it be a gaming desktop or should it simply be a complete and utter monster?
I’ll definitely do them all in time but for now I decided, as the name Ferus suggests, to go with the latter option.
It will be completely overkill (for my purposes anyway) to some extent it will be used for gaming but as studies are currently taking up most of my time it will also be used for “Folding@Home” and to “mine” Bitcoins.
I’ll be posting my build log here with lots of pictures showing my progress. Hopefully it’ll be an interesting build to follow, comments are always appreciated but please keep it civil.
