This weekend I’ll be firing up my HTPC to enjoy some serious eSports content. It’s time for the next stop on the Major League Gaming (MLG) Pro Circuit, this time taking place in Orlando, Florida.
MLG Orlando has all the ingredients neccesary to make a seriously kick-ass eSports event. Huge prizepools, world-renowned professional players and some amazing casting talent for our viewing pleasure. MLG features three main titles: StarCraft 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Halo: Reach.
StarCraft 2
The participants in the StarCraft 2 event are without a doubt world class, more than 200 players from all over the world are coming to MLG Orlando to compete for their share of the $14.000 prizepool with $5000 going to the winner of the event. The whole tournament will be avalible to the public via online streams through the MLG website (www.majorleaguegaming.com) and will be casted by the following top notch casters: Tasteless, Artosis, Day[9], djWheat, Husky and JP McDaniel.
Halo: Reach
MLG steps up with a huge prizepool for the Halo: Reach tournament giving away an impressive $20.000 to the winning team and with a total prizepool of $56.000. eon Instinct, currently ranked #1 of all teams will definitely be trying to take this event down after their loss to Infamous at the finals of MLG: Raleigh after Infamous made an amazing comeback fighting their way through the losers bracket.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Being the newest title of the MLG Pro Circuit CoD: Black Ops looks very promising, already showing an impressive prizepool of $24.000 and as with the previous titles to the victor goes the spoils, $10.000 is awarded to the winning team. The tournament supports up to 224(!) teams to participate which should give us a ton of good games.
